Dear Colleagues and partners

We are thrilled to invite you to a pivotal webinar co-hosted by ActionAid International and the Global Campaign, focusing on the new EU Due Diligence Directive and the urgent need for a robust UN Legally Binding Instrument (LBI) on transnational corporations and human rights.

Date: 21st May 2024 Time: 15 CEST Duration: 60 minutes

As advocates for social justice and corporate accountability, we understand the importance of critically analysing regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and mobilizing civil society voices to ensure the protection of human rights across borders.

Join us as we delve into the following key topics:

  • Regulation of Global Value Chains: CS3D and the Binding Treaty (Analysing how the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) and the proposed Binding Treaty can regulate global value chains effectively to ensure corporate accountability and human rights protection).
  • The Binding Treaty Process: Advocating for International Law (Exploring the ongoing efforts to advocate for an international legally binding instrument to hold transnational corporations accountable for human rights violations and discussing the challenges and opportunities in the treaty negotiation process).
  • The Global South Proposals for National Regulation of TNCs (Examining the proposals and initiatives from Global South countries for implementing national regulations to address the activities of transnational corporations and protect human rights).
  • CS3D and the UN LBI: Protecting Women's Rights (Discussing the intersection between the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) and the UN Legally Binding Instrument (LBI) and how they can contribute to the protection and advancement of women's rights globally).
  • CS3D and the UN LBI: Impacts on Labour Rights in the Global South (Assessing the potential impacts of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) and the UN Legally Binding Instrument (LBI) on labor rights, particularly in the Global South, and identifying opportunities for strengthening protections).
  • The Role of European CSOs in the UN Binding Treaty Process (Exploring the contributions and involvement of European Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the advocacy for the UN Binding Treaty on transnational corporations and human rights and examining their influence on the treaty negotiation process).

Our webinar will provide a platform for engaging discussions, insightful presentations, and opportunities for networking with like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Interpretation will be available in Spanish to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all participants.

Register now through the Webinar Registration - Zoom to secure your spot and contribute to this essential dialogue on shaping the future of corporate responsibility and human rights advocacy.

We look forward to your participation and meaningful contributions to this important conversation.

Regards,
